About

I grew up in the church as the son of a pastor and went to college for graphic design, eventually transitioning into web development. I married my wife, Rebecca, in July 2001, and we have four incredible children: Évah, Asher, Joshua, and Adi, who we were privileged to raise on the mission field. In 2006, I started my own graphic design and web development agency, and by early 2010 it allowed us to be self-funded international missionaries. It was an incredible blessing to raise our children in Sweden, Spain, and South Africa (2011-2020).

During my time in South Africa I was privileged to work as a Change Management Leader for the City of Cape Town in a government efficiency organization like DOGE, and after completing my doctorate I moved to a Senior Product Manager role for a technical team that was auditing the National Government of South Africa for corruption.

During the pandemic, we returned to the USA, where I moved into SaaS product leadership — first at Resi/Pushpay, then as Director of Marketing and Digital Products at a global chemical company with 23 international locations. After that I moved to Director of Product and Growth at Outreach, where I led SermonCentral and Sermons4Kids. Today, I’m Director of Product at HarperCollins Christian Publishing, leading Bible Gateway — the world’s most-visited Bible website with 23 million monthly users.

What I Write About

This blog covers the product side of digital discipleship — the real trade-offs of building technology that serves the church. I write about what I’m building: how to design activation funnels for products used once a week, why AI in sermon prep raises different questions than AI in other SaaS categories, what happens when a 200-year-old publisher hires a product leader, and the tension between mission and monetization that defines every decision in faith tech.

My approach is practitioner-first. I don’t theorize about church technology from the outside — I build it, measure it, ship it, and write about what I learned.
